BEDROOMS

For me bedrooms should be calming and relaxing – a haven from the chaos of life. They should be tactile and full of texture.

The colour is key and should be restful. Blues/greens and soft greys and pinks
are good for this.

SITTING ROOMS

Sophisticated and grown up or relaxed and informal it really depends upon you and the function of the room.  I try and keep the main more expensive items classic and regularly change lighting and  accessories to keep it up-to-date. Sumptuous fabrics can be used as this is the room in which we spend most of our time and use to entertain.

KITCHENS & BATHROOMS

With the move towards open-plan living set to continue, the kitchen is the hub of the house. It needs to be carefully planned and designed to suit the needs of all the family. It needs to be functional yet stylish, practical yet welcoming. Dark colours can be particularly striking in either a kitchen or bathroom. A patterned floor in a bathroom or utility can make a real statement.

KIDS ROOMS

This is where we can have a bit of fun. Quirky wallpapers are great and can be painted over when kids grow out of them or become bored.

Juliet Travers is fab for sophisticated wallpaper with a sense of humour.
